Collected data in the cancer registry serve to investigate cancer in the state of Bremen. It facilitates, among others, the examination of the effects of nationwide cancer prevention and early detection programs as well as of the quality of care. Another aspect is the investigation of cancer causes, which is possible by small-scale analyses.
