Dear patient,

Your doctor has informed you that you are suffering from a tumor. According to the Bremen Cancer Registry Act, this includes all cancers, their precursors and benign brain tumors. Advances in early detection, diagnosis, therapy and aftercare have increased the chances of recovery for most cancers in recent years. To ensure good treatment quality and to further improve the care of cancer patients as well as making it transparent, all federal states are obligated by law to establish clinical cancer registries. These registries record and analyze data on the occurrence, treatment and the course of cancer diseases. Knowledge and further progress on cancer and its medical care can only be gained if reliable information is available. In addition to clinical cancer registries, there are population-based cancer registries. These cancer registries examine the frequency and distribution of cancer diseases with the aim of preventing and containing them.

On this page, we would like to explain our goals and methods at the Bremen Cancer Registry and inform you about the use of your data.
