Self-help groups

In Germany, there are currently an estimated 100,000 self-help groups, two thirds of which deal with health issues, many of which with cancer. There are mixed groups and groups in which patients of a certain cancer type get together. Others are organized by age and sex. Patients receive detailed tips i.e. on how to deal with side effects and helpful advice on socio-legal issues in self-help groups. You will find an overview of different self-help groups here.
