Reporting Process

Reporting process

Reports about new cancer cases, therapies and courses of disease must be transmitted in a structured electronic form to the trust center of the Bremen Cancer Registry (BCR). For this purpose, a “reporting portal” has been set up for reporting physicians. You can use this portal to manually enter and transmit individual patient reports as well as to upload interface-compliant files from your tumor documentation system. Any questions about reports and the exchange of other information on cancer registration or the compensation for reports may also be asked in the protected area of the reporting portal.

To use the reporting portal, you have to register at the BCR’s trust center in advance. You can find more information on the registration at the bottom of this page.

Manual recording

This reporting method is intended in particular for practices and clinics that only want to submit a relatively small number of reports and do not have their own tumor documentation system. For each patient, the respective data on diagnosis, therapy and the course of the disease (according to the oBDS) can be recorded using the appropriate input masks and then sent directly to us at the push of a button. Missing, invalid or implausible information will be displayed to you in the portal and may be corrected before transmission. Here you will find a brief guide for reporting.

Messages via interface

The transmission of reports via XML interface is intended especially for hospitals and oncological practices with their own tumor documentation system.

The export files created by the tumor documentation system can be sent directly to the cancer registry by pushing a button in the reporting portal. A check function is also available in the portal. Missing, invalid and implausible information in the data can be corrected in the tumor documentation system before transmission.

For this type of transmission, the currently valid nationwide XML interface definition of the oBDS needs to be used. Please ask your system administrator or your software provider which measures are necessary on the part of your inhouse IT/software for such a transmission.

Registration in the reporting portal

Every medical or dental practice or clinic located in the state of Bremen participating in the oncological care of patients can apply for access to the reporting portal of the Bremen Cancer Registry. Registration is only possible via the trust center of the Bremen Cancer Registry.

Please fill out the form provided and send it by mail to:

Vertrauensstelle Bremer Krebsregister
Registrierung
Achterstr. 30
28359 Bremen

Your access data will then be sent in two separate letters to you. Detailed instructions for the subsequent registration in the portal can be found here.
